Assets from varying agencies have been looking for Samantha Chun and Joey Fujioka since Saturday after the couple did not return from a night out.

HPD said Fujioka picked up Chun sometime after 9 p.m. on Friday and they were last seen at a gas station on Kipapa Drive. They arrived at Ke Iki beach around 10:30 p.m.

Fujiokaʻs family found his car locked and secured at the beach the next morning and the coupleʻs belongings, including their phones and wallets, were found on a blanket on the beach.

HFD said human remains were found Saturday afternoon around 200 yards off Ke Iki beach. The medical examinerʻs office confirmed Tuesday that the remains are human, however, HFD could not confirm that the remains are related to the case.

The family has been notified of the new development.
