HONOLULU (KHON2) — Drivers in Honolulu can expect delays starting Monday as the city resumes construction on a busy section of Kapiolani Boulevard.
The work will take place between Harding Avenue and Atkinson Drive and is part of an ongoing project to improve the roadway.
Crews will be reconstructing asphalt, installing new manhole covers and vehicle sensor loops, and re-striping the pavement.
Work will be carried out Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During construction hours, there will be no morning or afternoon contraflow, and street parking will be used by crews for their equipment.
The project is expected to be completed by August.
Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and use alternate routes when possible.
