Inclement weather moves girls soccer tournament to turf

With heavy rain and strong winds in the forecast, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) has relocated all eight quarterfinal matches for the Division I and II Girls Soccer State Championships to artificial turf fields.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch and high wind warning for Oahu from Wednesday evening through Friday morning, prompting the HHSAA to move the following quarterfinal matchups:

Division I (Thursday)

      •     Kamehameha-Kapalama vs. Campbell – 6:00 p.m. at Kamehameha-Kapalama

      •     Waiakea vs. Waipahu – 4:00 p.m. at Waipahu High School

      •     Mililani vs. Moanalua – 4:00 p.m. at Mililani High School

      •     Kamehameha-Maui vs. Punahou – 3:00 p.m. at Punahou School

Division II (Thursday)

      •     Kamehameha-Hawaii vs. Pac-5 – 4:00 p.m. at Castle High School

      •     Seabury vs. Waimea – 6:00 p.m. at Castle High School

      •     Kauai vs. Waialua – 4:00 p.m. at Pearl City High School

      •     Mid-Pacific vs. Hawaii Prep – 6:00 p.m. at Pearl City High School

In addition, Division II consolation matches, originally scheduled for Thursday, have been postponed to Friday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex:

      •     Roosevelt vs. Kailua – 3:00 p.m. at Field 6

      •     Aiea vs. Radford – 3:00 p.m. at Field 7

With weather conditions uncertain, further schedule updates may be announced as necessary.
