The charges include the murder of Mischa Johnson, intentionally killing her unborn child, obstruction of justice, providing false statements, and possession and distribution of child pornography.

Pfc. Johnson waived his right to an Article 32 hearing, which typically serves as a preliminary investigation.

The case has now been referred to a military judge, who will schedule the arraignment, pretrial hearings, and trial dates. Johnson remains in pretrial confinement.

The case continues to be investigated by the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

Mischa Johnson is presumed dead, though her body has not been found. CID is asking the public for any information related to the case.
