The program will host its first live online auction starting Feb. 18 and features listings from cars to Morgan silver dollar coins.

Officials said the first round will consist mainly of cars and trucks but auctiongoers can also score a commercial fishing boat and more.

The department added that listings would be added as they become available.

“Prior to the COVID pandemic, we held live auctions quarterly at the Blaisdell Center. While online auctions are not a new idea, the launch of our auction website is a first for our office,” said Kern Nishioka, Asset Forfeiture Program Manager.

Listings will go live on the online auction page starting at 3 p.m. with closure dates varying between items.

Once sold, the department said the funds will be used for law enforcement activities such as training, equipment and other program expenses.
