Wags n’ Whiskers Wednesday features two-year-old pit bull terrier mix Max, who has been a recurring resident since his first appearance in March 2024.

He was turned in to the shelter after his owner couldn’t care for him anymore and kept returning for various reasons, none of which are his fault.

The Hawaiian Humane Society said Max is looking for a patient, gentle family that can give him the love and nurture he deserves.

Even though he might be shy when you first meet him, his playful personality will eventually shine through.

Officials said he loves going on walks and learning new skills. He is also housetrained.

He would do best without any other small animals but if you have another dog, you should bring it to meet Max to make sure they’re a perfect match.

His adoption fee has also been waived. His new adoptive family can also take advantage of his “Good Pup training scholarship,” for free, one-on-one virtual training and an adoption starter kit.
