Six Honolulu police officers climb ranks in promotion ceremony

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department gathered family, friends and more to celebrate the men and women in blue who climbed the ranks on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Honolulu Police Chief Joe Logan announced the department’s newest promotions at the Mission Memorial Auditorium including three Majors, one Assistant Chief and one Captain.

“HPD takes great pride and recognizes the members of our ohana who have demonstrated that they possess the necessary knowledge, skills, ability and passion to lead at the next higher level,” said Chief Logan.

Newly promoted Assistant Chief Brian Lynch will lead the Regional Patrol Bureau from Wahiawa to Kapolei. He has served in the department for more than 30 years commanding District 7, East Honolulu.

Parker Bode, Ryan Hironaka and Carlene Lau were all promoted to Major, bringing in a combined total of 57 years of experience on the force.

Arnold Sagucio, a 22-year veteran, was promoted to Captain and will lead Lau and the Records and Identification Division.

Garret Nishikawa also earned the title of Captain and will become the executive officer for District 5, Kalihi, with 26 years of service under his belt.
