Solving water-scarcity: New device turns air into water

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Have you ever wondered if we could turn air into water? A new high-tech device proved to do just that and hopes to solve water-scarcity problems in the islands and beyond.

KHON2 got a look at the device in action during a military conference on Thursday, March 6.

It’s called a “Water Cube” and it’s maker “Genesis Systems” said it’s accessible to anyone.

“It can plug into a regular 120 volt power supply, which is what you have in your home. Or you can plug it to a DC battery, so a car alternator, a boat, a yacht, wherever you want. You actually have a lot of versatility with this product, because you can make water anywhere that has air,” explained Jonathan Merheb, Genesis Systems.

Officials added that one kilowatt hour can make one gallon of water and it can also run off solar.
