KAILUA, Hawaii (KHON2) — A utility pole near a fast food restaurant on Kailua Road was struck down by a motorist on the afternoon of March 7, according to the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.

The pole is currently blocking the Kailua-bound lane of the road, and all Kailua-bound lanes are closed down as crews work on repairing the pole.

The Honolulu Police Department is working on diverting motorists away from the scene using alternative routes until a contraflow lane can be established.

As of 4:36 p.m., there is no estimated time for completion for the fixing of the utility pole.
