This base, which combines Navy and Air Force operations, partners with Ohana Military Communities (#Navy) and #Hickam Communities (#Air Force) to provide a substantial number of housing units for military families. Ohana Military Communities alone manages 23 communities with approximately 4,500 homes across Oahu, including new, renovated, and historic residences in various neighborhoods near JBPHH. These homes cater to a wide range of ranks, from junior enlisted (E1) to senior officers (O10), and include diverse floor plans and amenities tailored to family needs.
In comparison, other bases on Oahu, such as Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) and Schofield Barracks, also offer significant family housing but on a smaller scale. MCBH, managed by Ohana Military Communities – Marines, provides 2,536 homes across 12 communities, while Schofield Barracks, under Island Palm Communities, serves around 3,000 households. Although these numbers are substantial, JBPHH stands out due to its larger combined inventory and the extensive infrastructure supporting both Navy and Air Force families, making it the base with the most family housing on the island.
