HONOLULU (KHON2) — An early morning fire in Manoa has claimed the life of one and critically injured another.

The fire broke out sometime around 4 a.m.

Upon arrival, Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) personnel found a fully involved two story residential structure fire.

One patient was found and transferred to Emergency Medical Services(EMS) for medical care at 4:52 a.m. from a neighboring residence.

While searching the structure, HFD found an elderly couple, one of whom was transported by EMS for medical care and unfortunately another who expired from their injuries.

The fire was brought under control at 5:02 a.m. and fully extinguished at 5:29 a.m.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the fires origin.
