HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu police have arrested a 17-year-old girl for attempted murder following a shooting on the H-2 freeway.

The late-night incident happened on Saturday, March 1, around 9:30 p.m. in the Waipio area of the H-2 freeway.

According to HPD, a male and female were driving south on the H-2 before Ka Uka Boulevard when the suspect in another vehicle fired at the couple, striking the driver’s door.

The suspect then fled the scene.

After further investigation, police officials positively identified a 17-year-old female and arrested her without incident.

Police added that no further information will be released due to the suspect’s age.

She remains in police custody pending investigation.
