WAIKIKI, Hawaii (KHON2) — A 35-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car near Kapiolani Park.

Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident on Thursday, Feb. 20 just after 10 a.m.

According to HPD, a 28-year-old male driver was traveling westbound on Paki Avenue when the woman ran into the road.

Officials added she was not in a marked crosswalk when she was hit. The driver did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene.

Paramedics said the woman suffered multiple injuries, including a head injury. They administered advanced life support before bringing her to an emergency room.

A portion of Paki Avenue was closed while police investigated.
