City & County of Honolulu is one of America’s best employers

HONOLULU (KHON2) — If you work for the City and County of Honolulu, you actually work for one of America’s Best Employers, according to Forbes and Statista Inc.

The Forbes America’s Best Employers 2025 was compiled based on a survey of more than 170,000 employees.

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi said this is the second consecutive year the City and County of Honolulu has made the list.

“This dedication is a testament to the dedication, professionalism and passion of our incredible workforce. Our employees are the heart of this city, working tirelessly to serve our residents and improve our communities,” explained Mayor Blangiardi.

The City ranked #416 out of 701 businesses and was recognized in the “Large” organizations category for employing more than 10,000 full-time and part-time employees.

Officials said the ranking shows how the City and County create a workplace that values employee satisfaction, professional development and community engagement.

“We take great pride in providing a workplace that supports their growth, well-being, and success. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to recruiting and retaining top talent who share our passion for public service.”

The City and County has also been recognized as one of the Best-In-State Employers by Forbes and the top provider of government services in Hawaii.
