HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) will hold a job fair on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.
The event aims to connect local job seekers with employers and career resources.
“Job fairs like this one are essential as Hawaii faces a labor shortage, providing opportunities for residents to find work and support our local economy,” said DLIR Director Jade T. Butay. “This event in Hilo is a great chance for job seekers to meet employers from a wide range of industries.”
The fair will kick off with a priority service hour from 9:30 to 10 a.m. for veterans, military members, and their families.
The event will then be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, bring resumes, and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.
The event will also offer services such as resume reviews, career coaching, and information about education and training programs.
Several employers will be conducting interviews, and some may offer immediate hiring opportunities.
Paid internships will also be available for those looking to gain experience while earning income.
