Former Hawaii Football Linebacker Jeff Ulbrich has been announced as the new Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator.
According to the Atlanta Falcons, the team interviewed seven candidates throughout the week.
Ulbrich spent 4 seasons with the New York Jets, where he was the Jets Defensive Coordinator for 3 seasons, but in the 4th was elevated 5 games into the season as the Interim Head Coach.
The former ‘Bow played in the NFL for 10 seasons and was the Falcons linebacker coach from 2015 to 2019.
Ulbrich played 2 seasons at linebacker for Hawaii from 1998 to 1999. He earned 1st Team All WAC during his senior year, where he set a single-season Hawaii program record with 169 total tackles.
Atlanta’s defense was ranked 23rd in the league in total defense this past season.
