HONOLULU (KHON2) — Vidinha Stadium will be temporarily closed starting this Friday, March 7, as work begins on the first phase of its $12.2 million renovation project.
The improvements include updates to the field, track, and video board, with the project slated to wrap up in December 2025.
The upgrades are a result of collaboration between the County Council, state legislators, the Hawai‘i Department of Education, the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation, and local contractors.
The renovation will include removing the existing field, track, and scoreboard, and installing a synthetic turf field, a new synthetic track, updated track equipment, and a video board.
During the construction period, Vidinha Stadium will remain closed.
