Hawaii basketball struggles with turnovers, falls to UC Irvine

(HONOLULU, HI) The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors hosted the #2 team in the Big West, UC Irvine.

In the 1st half, Hawaii struggling as they turned it over 10 times and only recorded 2 assists, which allowed the Anteaters to take a 13 point lead at halftime.

Hawaii shot 9-28 from the field in the first half and 0-5 from 3.

In the 2nd half, Hawaii pulled within 11 points within the first 5 minutes, but UC Irvine was able to stop the run as the ‘Bows in this one had 3 different stretches of 4 minute scoring droughts.

Hawaii falls 66-49 after UC Irvine shoots 40% from the field in the 2nd half.

The ‘Bows tally 6 assists and 35 rebounds (UC Irvine finished with 34), but Hawaii committed 14 turnovers.
