HONOLULU (KHON2) — We are two days away from the Super Bowl and for football fans, seeing it in person might be a “one in a lifetime” experience.
Wayne Coito travels to sporting events for business and is in New Orleans getting ready to see his ninth Super Bowl in person.
“It’s cool to be here every time I come here,” said Wayne Coito. “I’ve been here so many times, and it’s still really fun. Because like I was telling my friends, this is for all ages. Like, how many times do you see adults getting as excited as kids are?”
The game is personal too. He’s a long-time Chiefs fan. So he was going no matter the cost.
“Housing is always expensive period,” said Coito. “It doesn’t matter. I mean, Motel 6 is like Motel 600 right now. So that’s just how it happens at the Super Bowl.”
Adam Morris is a die-hard Eagles fan. He’s been to their last two Super Bowls. He even got a game ball from Philly’s win over New England in 2018. He would go again this year, but a family member’s getting married the Saturday before.
“I definitely explored all the options, but at the end of the day, family over everything and wanted to be there for the wedding, wanted to be there for the family as much as I love Philadelphia Eagles, family is more important,” said Adam Morris.
Both guys said the Super Bowl experience is getting ridiculously expensive these days, but it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
“I just hope everybody gets a chance to come here,” said Coito. “I know the price, the cost is crazy. But if you really love the NFL, I guarantee you will love being at a Super Bowl. Of course, it’s better if your team is in it.”
“To be quite honest, it’s like when I’m having a rough day sometimes, I’ll go back and look at some of the video, as lame as that sounds, that joy that day brought me, it’s unmatched,” said Morris.
“So I’m really excited,” said Coito. “We’re going to have a great game on Sunday, I’m sure. But it’s going to start getting even crazier in New Orleans in the next few days. So that’s exciting.”
“At the end of the day man, I’ve been to two Super Bowls, I’m super blessed, I’m super fortunate, and so at the end of the day, no regrets and I’ll just be happy if they pull off the victory,” said Morris.
