Long-time Hawaii sportscaster Bobby Curran passes away

HONOLULU (KHON2) — In a social media post, ESPN Honolulu announced the passing of long-time Hawaii sportscaster Bobby Curran.

“His voice, passion and dedication to local sports left an unforgettable mark on our community and the countless lives he touched. Bobby’s impact will never be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to inspire.”

Curran spent over three decades calling football and men’s basketball games at the University of Hawaii.

According to UH, he called more than 400 broadcasts in 32 football seasons, the longest announcing streak in UH football history and was also known for the popular “The Bobby Curran Show.”

He was inducted to the UH Sports Circle of Honor in 2023.

“Rest in Aloha and Mahalo, Bobby Curran. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.”
