HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Pearl Harbor National Memorial hosted a day of service on January 20, 2025, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., volunteers worked alongside park staff to clean up litter, maintain wayside exhibits, and wash the USS Oklahoma Memorial.
Tools and safety gear were provided, and participants were advised to wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring their own water.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, established by Congress in 1994, is the only federal holiday dedicated to community service, encouraging everyone to give back and make a difference in their communities.
