HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 21-year-old woman from Puna is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in Kurtistown late Monday night.

Big Island police said the incident occurred near the 10-mile marker.

The woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved was uninjured.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
