Wieter & Todd leads Hawaii to sweep over Lindenwood

After an impressive 2-0 start in Big West Conference play, No. 3 Hawaii returned to non-conference action with a dominant sweep of Lindenwood, winning 25-13, 25-20, 27-25 in Manoa on Thursday night.

Hawaii (16-1) hit .522 as a team and extended its winning streak to three matches, dating back to its Big West series against UC Irvine. Outside hitter Clay Wieter, a former Lindenwood standout who spent four years with the Lions before transferring to Hawaii, tallied eight kills and two aces against his former team.

Justin Todd led the Rainbow Warriors with 11 kills on .714 hitting, while Zach Thompson, a Punahou graduate, recorded his first kill of the 2025 season.

Head coach Charlie Wade continues to be in awe of another strong Wednesday non-conference home crowd of 3,652 at SimpliFi Arena.

“Yeah, it’s awesome. And it is really humbling,” Wade said. “When I got here in ‘95, both the men’s and women’s teams had these huge crowds, and the whole community was into it. To see the men’s program now at this level—it’s special. A lot of people have worked really hard to get us here, and we just hope to keep putting on a good show every night.”

Hawaii and Lindenwood will wrap up their two-match series on Friday night.

The game will not be televised, but fans can catch the action on ESPN Honolulu, with Tiff Wells on the radio call.
